Museum Partners with DWU for The Big Read!
Join us in celebrating great literature!
September 4 - October 11, 2008
The Dakota Discovery Museum is one of several community partners with Dakota Wesleyan University in hosting The Big Read for the Mitchell area this fall. The Big Read gives communities the opportunity to come together to read, discuss and celebrate American and world literature. The Big Read in the Mitchell area will focus on Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
As part of planned activities, the museum will host a four week special program for the YWCA Kids Klub After-school Program that will focus on book appreciation and fire safety. During the Big Read, and until October 24, Kids Klub artwork will be on display in the Case Art Gallery.
Children visiting the museum can take part in a book-related Scavenger Hunt.
